Nintendo released its newest earnings report today, revealing that the Nintendo Switch has, quite easily, outsold the Wii U in its first 10 months of release. Since the Switch launched in March, 2017, the console has sold 14.86 million units, a cool million and some change more than the Wii U’s humble 13.56 million units. The Switch has benefited a good deal from a strong collection of first-party games early on (Super Mario Odyssey has sold 9 million copies thus far) in its life-span, and the console’s convertible, portable format has been a huge surprise hit. The Wii U, on the other hand, suffered from confusing marketing that failed to really talk up the purpose of the device and a fairly lackluster offering of exclusive big games.Demand for the Switch remains high due to limited supply, so it’s likely we’ll see people clamoring for one of the hybrid gadgets for months to come. The Switch is gradually catching up to the GameCube, which moved 21.74 million units, though the Switch is still quite a ways away from the Wii, which amassed huge success during its lifespan, selling 101.63 million units. That’ll be a hard number for the Switch to beat, but we’ll wait and see.You can view the report, complete with handy infographics, here.
Smarter Than Your Average ZombieA SHIPWRECKED MAN, having been cast upon a certain shore, slept after his buffetings with the deep. After a while he awoke, and looking upon the Sea, loaded it with reproaches. He argued that it enticed men with the calmness of its looks, but when it had induced them to plow its waters, it grew rough and destroyed them. The Sea, assuming the form of a woman, replied to him: "Blame not me, my good sir, but the winds, for I am by my own nature as calm and firm even as this earth; but the winds suddenly falling on me create these waves, and lash me into fury."
At first glance, Super Power Boy looks like a very, very pretty endless runner. Like super pretty: the game's using prerendered graphics (Donkey Kong Country style) to offer a swish Pixar-like experience. And from the first level, it might seem super simple, too. The usual mix of jumping over spikes and sliding under floating robots with a quick swipe up or down on the touchscreen. Collect a few gems and you're done. But play a little more, and start unlocking new gear for your pint-size boy hero, and the game suddenly takes on a new dimension.Grind boots let you ride down rails, a blaster lets you shoot robots, a piece of power armour lets you elbow barge into obstacles, a shield lets you bounce bullets back at automatons, and carry on.Like an auto-running Metroid, you start the game frail and powerless, and end with a tricked-out power suit capable of shooting, deflecting, butt stomping, and diving out of the way of all the crazy obstacles in each stage. At that point, the game becomes very tough but very fun. Probably why it took home one of the prizes at our Very Big Indie Pitch. The game's coming to iOS and Apple TV in a couple months, and will be a paid game.

It says, "In other news, Super Meat Boy is hopefully going to be releasing on Switch in December. The game itself has been done for quite some time but we're making something pretty special for the Switch version!"Though they haven't given us any details on it at the moment, this special new detail will apparently offer up a "pretty enticing reason for Switch owners to get the game again if they already own it on other systems."Speculations in the comments range from getting a physical release/amiibo to the slightly less likely meatball-flavoured Switch cartridge. I guess we'll find out later this month. What do you think? Are you tempted to buy the game again? Let us know in the comments below.

Developer of the super-cute HandyBot has recently released a new video of what to expect in this adorable little puzzler. What's different about this poor little robot is that he can't move – he can only drag himself across the level with one very handy arm. By either dragging himself to the object or dragging the object to himself, you have to figure out how to get to the hatch that leads to the next level. It's certainly a game about tactics as different object appear as you progress in the game. By swiping toward the bot you'll drag and item to him. By swiping toward the object, you'll drag the bot instead. Simple on the outside at least.HandyBot will be available on both iOS and Android (as well as Steam), though no date has been confirmed as of yet. We'll keep you updated when new information becomes available.
