It was incredibly tight at this year's Big Indie Pitch at Apps World, and Dr Harrison and the Blood Crystals just missed out on taking home all the plaudits. As it turns out, Dr Harrison ended up in a not too shabby at all second place, and it deserved to be there. It's an incredibly slick and polished multiplayer platformer in which you have to complete a series of difficult levels played out in a comic book.Meanwhile, a friend or two will compete with you on their own phones. When you're finished, you can compare how long it took you to complete all of the levels, as well as how many times you failed. This way it's easy to see who walked away with the competition. It's not a particularly long experience, but we didn't see everything that it had to offer. We can tell you that it felt really fun to play and posed a good challenge. It's just so polished. So congratulations to Dr Harrison and the Blood Crystals for winning second prize, and we wish the developer luck with the upcoming launch.

"Oh, I know--I know. But it is my duty to tell her. I can't get away from that conviction."'Small show of man was yet upon his chin;As one of the most haunting and harrowing games out on the market, This War of Mine is a bitter-sweet experience that you sometimes hate to love. Finally 11 bit studios has brought the DLC The Little Ones to the game to purchase. For those who haven't played the game before, This War of Mine is a marvellous mix of hope, despair, betrayal, and determinations. You play as an overseer of sorts and have to manage your team's survival from the elements, illness, starvation, on scavenging missions, and from bandits. This War of Mine is a game that isn't afraid to kick you when you're down.Personally I love this game on any platform. I'd initially bought it on PC but immediately bought it for the iPad when it was available, and The Little Ones DLC is a must. The DLC brings about new civilians, including children, and new scenarios that bring about a new look on the game. What does war look like through the eyes of a child?Grab This War of Mine here if you haven't got the game already for £10.99/$14.99 on the App Store. Or if you're an Android user, the game is currently £2.99 on Google Play.
Those looking to scratch that same dungeon crawling itch found in classic fantasy RPGs like Baldur’s Gate and Diablo will feel right at home in Rogue Hearts.Available now on the App Store and Google Play, Rogue Hearts looks to offer a unique spin by having player manipulation influence battle directly, unlike automatic combat RPGs found elsewhere. The game infuses dark fantasy lore with light rogue-like elements, keeping the action fresh as you guide your party through rooms to engage in satisfying boss fights.Rather than having you crazily mash the screen with your finger, Rogue Hearts’ combat is noticeably more tactical. Battles take place on a grid and are turn-based, allowing for a more thoughtful approach to tackling enemies.Post-game content incudes ‘nightmare’ versions of story boss battles amongst other twists, so completionists will get there fill long after Rogue Hearts’ credits roll.Discover what lies in the dark by fighting in unique turn-based battles. Rogue Hearts is available now for iOS and Android players.
