If you're not paying attention to digital board gaming, then you're missing out on some really interesting ideas. Ideas like Tabletopia, which has just come out for iPad.Essentially, it's an app that lets you play board games on your tablet. But it's so much more than that. There's no AI or computer interference - you're getting the full table top experience, just on a touchscreen device. If that wasn't enough, you can also create and playtest your own board games on the app. If that doesn't get your creative juices flowing, then I don't know what will.
A DOG lay in a manger, and by his growling and snapping prevented the oxen from eating the hay which had been placed for them. "What a selfish Dog!" said one of them to his companions; "he cannot eat the hay himself, and yet refuses to allow those to eat who can."

The Layton Series Twitter account has unveiled today that the third instalment of the popular puzzle adventure series, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future – or Lost Future depending on where you live – will be heading for iOS and Android on 13th July where it will now be playable in HD.The game starts with Professor Layton receiving a letter from his assistant Luke, which doesn't seem too out of the ordinary until he learns the message is apparently from 10 years in the future. It seems a little absurd at first until Layton remembers a recent accident in London involving a time machine exploding.Professor Layton and the Lost Future / Unwound Future is coming to mobile devices in HD on the 13th of July, 2020!Remember, a true gentleman never reveals spoilers. #ProfessorLaytonhttps://t.co/wJEBaqkDHn pic.twitter.com/vUi0kIiTCR— Layton Series (@LaytonSeries) July 3, 2020From there Layton begins his investigation to discover what exactly is going on. That means exploring and solving several puzzles to progress the story further and uncover more of the mystery. These conundrums and minigames will all make use of 'intuitive touch controls'. Of course, there will also be several characters you'll meet throughout the course of the story to chat with.Professor Layton and the Lost Future initially launched for the Nintendo DS in 2008 for Japan and 2010 in the rest of the world. Much like a majority of the Layton titles, it was very well received, including by us. Damien McFerran reviewed it for us back in 2010, giving it a Gold rating.Professor Layton and the Lost Future/Unwound Future will be available on the App Store and Google Play on 13th July. There's no word on price just yet but we'll be sure to keep you updated when we learn more.On the hunt for more puzzle games to play on your phone? Here are 25 of the best available for iOS

If you haven't seen it in the news already, you'll probably be surprised to know that Ubisoft has recently purchased the prolific developer, Ketchapp (Stick Hero, Twist, Jelly Jump, etc.).Ketchapp is a renowned studio, known especially for their reputation of making free-to-play insta-hits. At only two years old, the studio's games have been downloaded nearly 700 million times, an average download of 23 million downloads per month. It's no wonder Ubisoft's had its sights on them."With Ketchapp, Ubisoft acquires a highly profitable publisher with a successful portfolio of free-to-play games for mobile," said Jean-Michel Detoc, executive director of Ubisoft's mobile business in yesterday's press release. "This acquisition gives Ubisoft one of the world's leading mobile game publishers and reinforces our advertising capabilities in mobile gaming."However Antoine and Michel Morcos, managing directors and co-founders of Ketchapp seem to be pretty pleased with the deal as they stated: "We are thrilled to become part of Ubisoft's international network of talented teams. We founded Ketchapp with the intention of creating captivation gaming experiences, and we are looking forward to leveraging Ubisoft's creativity and resources to enrich our existing and upcoming titles."Iffy reputation or not, we'll have to wait and see what the future brings with this new partnership. Dream team – or match made in hell? Can't wait to find out.
